Robert Zeller

Artist Info

Rob Zeller is a classically trained artist who makes realist paintings in a contemporary context. Moving comfortably in both the Classical and Contemporary art worlds, he was the recipient of a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant in 2007, for his “Virgin of the Mall Series”. This series was also featured in his first solo show in New York, at 511 Gallery in Chelsea in 2006.

Zeller received a BFA from the Boston Museum School and Tufts University, and an MFA from the New York Academy of Art. He studied with Jacob Collins at the Water Street Atelier. He is the recipient of two Posey Fellowships in 1998 and 2000.

In the spring of 2009, he founded the Teaching Studios of Art in Oyster Bay and in Brooklyn. He has also taught at the New York Academy of Art, the Stevenson Academy of Fine Art, and the Long Island Academy of Fine Art.

He has exhibited in galleries in New York City and nationally.
